I've been in the football industry for a number of years now, so
I know a thing or two about how to play the beautiful game!
Alright lads. First things first. You wanna take the game to the
professional level, you're gonna have to be good - able to play for
the school team for a start. Hell, you gonna have to be better than
the best in your school team to make it into the youth teams.
Then just because you're in the youth team, doesn't mean you
can relax. Far from it. The pace is faster; the staff less forgiving.
however good you had to be to get into the club youth team,
you have to be twice as good to stay there, and three times as
dedicated to think about reserves.
'The reserves are a real proving ground - the team is often not
only the upcoming talent, but also established stars. some may
be recovering from injury; some suffering from lack of form; some
demoted for discipline problems. So a lad like yourself could
find himself playing with people you really admire.
