Here is the shortlist of the possible mods (not in any order.)

Nadji
StevieCoppleisagod
Oldman
Hez

Can these people please make a post in this topic saying why they think they would be best at the job (or if they dont want to be mod, say why)

It has been hard job for me to decide who to put on the shortlist.

There is also a poll open for other members to vote for who they think should be mod, remember though the winner of the poll wont necessary be mod, the final decision will be mine. It will help me see who you think would be best for the job though (so it will be taken into account when making my decision.)

Seems I'm first up, anyway here it goes

I believe that I would make an excellent Moderator, which is evident by my time and commitment to this forum. I generally visit the 4 aces forum daily as it is one of my most visited sites. I bring an International point of view to this forum as most of its members are British, I have learned alot from you lads and I'm sure I've a may have taught you guys a thing or two about Aussie culture along the way.

I have a laid back attitude not only towards the forum but towards life, but I can also be quite professional when necessary.

I'd just like to end my proposal with a slightly modified quote from John F. Kennedy:

"Ask not what your forum can do for you; ask what you can do for your forum."

i think i would be a good mod because i have already bean a mod & i have a bit of experience in being a mod. I come on the forum practicly everyday & try to reply to everyones posts but some times i have to go before i can reply. I have 2 quite good teams so i have a bit of knowledge on the4aces. Im not afraid to put my opinoin forward or ask questions. I think it would be good for the board to have such a young mod. so plz plz plz plz plz plz plz plz vote fore me.

Sorry about not being on before, only my internet's been dodgy. ub, site looks great, I see you've changed the ranking system. I'll give my applicantion later today, possibly tommorow.

Ub, hez , like freddie, has annouced his retirement from the 4 aces game, but is still coming on here occaisionally, so his speach might take time.

I'd like to start by saying that I think I would make a good mod beacause I ahve experince. I have admined on one board and spent a brief time moderating on another before I had to stop because I was spending 6 hours a day on there. I have all the right qualities to be a mod, I'm kind, dedicated and above all, I'm sypathetic.
I visit the board every day except weekends when my internet is down because then I can't go to the libary, I reply to virtually every topic, I don't swear and even when I havn't been a mod, I've tried to help keep the forum toghther, as people can see by my 2 topics in the "Announcements" section. I also took on the task of keeping the tournament running, which is now for some people (including myself) the main reason they come on here. Furthermore, I am 5th highest poster on here behind those 2 up there, inter and hottntott.
I've spent a year now playing the4aces manager, during which time I've managed three teams. One is mine, Reading United, which i am very attached to. The others are oldman's old legends and hez's "Hez Crew". hez crew are very good and old legends are alright. Overall, although I have not been playing 4aces for as long as most people on here I am very experinced and know most stuff about it
If I s made mod, I would focus on 1)creating a user friendly board ie. no swearing or major insults, and also helping newbies get 50 psts as once they are there they can really help the board progress. Not enough newbies are getting to 50 or even 10 any more, with only joesph and cjj really making an impact.

I'd like to finish up by saying that I'm not desprate to be mod, andi'd settle for a board or two or even nothing, but (this is a joke) plz plz plz plz plz plz plz plz plz (one more than oldman go me!)

Well, I think we are spoilt for choice. I am pleased to say my piece. Since I have been logging on I have not got to know Hez as he has not been posting hardly. The other three guys bring different gifts to the table.

Nadji is calm and measured always and is an obvious choice, He shows great interest in all things sporting and international. Very sound. Very correct.

StevieC is very keen and enthusiastic, always well conducted and on the side of right. He always takes a full part in proceedings and is prepared to put himself forward for work required. He is brave in this respect and rushes to get stuck in. He is a very good observer and gets to know and understand forum members, linking items well. He is a very busy poster.

Oldman is very keen and often starts new topics. He questions and comments and generally is very useful to the forum. He is very young to be such a good performer and will go from strength to strength. Not least of his attributes is his terrific enthusiasm to be a mod. He has made no secret of this and has been prepared to ask and offer his services. He strives to add to the forum at all times.

Personally, each of these guys is a very strong candidate in my opinion, and I would not wish to put a cigarette paper between them. I often have trouble with the voting proceedure, so I will not post votes, but my vote can be recorded from this post. It is - one vote each.

The forum is growing fast ,I notice, and the tournaments may well attract many other recruits, so I would seriously recommend to Uidb that he appoints all three as mods. They will not let him down, and he knows they are all eagle-eyed and popular. I think that Uibd is very fortunate to have such a good line-up and that it would be a great shame to disappoint any of them.

So there you have, my views ,for what they are worth. I wish them all the very best of luck and I hope they all get the call and that Uibd can put his feet up take it easy, pleased to have created a good forum.

Whoever the new mod is I would like to see us being very welcoming to newcomers and not belting them when they raise their heads above the parapet!
