nothing beats championship manager, FM is just a bad attempt at copping the game.

Ive been a Champ Man fan since Championship Manager 3 (98/99 version) and I will always be a fan.

lol CM 3 kicked ass, but FM 2007 is so much better, CM 5 was really poor. Only complaint i got with FM is some players stats are REALLY inflated will others are poor. Check out Sampdoria's older players lol

My brother is addicted to the PSP game of FM.. whether he's hanging washing on the line, whether he's asleep.. he's playing.
StevieCoppellisaGod

I've been playing on that when I' not posting on here, it's so addicting. I started one game as reading but left it when I was infromed "Steve Coppell has taken over as manger of west brom". Now I mange liverpool and chelsea because chelsea have a huge transfer kitty and I've always anted to mage liverpool. I also mange united but just to make them lose games on purpose...
bignig

football manager awesome game freddy adu n junior khanye best playas on der
StevieCoppellisaGod

bignig, please check dates (crosses fingers). Don't post in topics that have been inactive for a long time.

Chelsea won the quadruple last season (FA Cup, Champions League, Prem, Community Shield) and Liverpool won the league cup.
the-bats-boston

I know this is a very old topic - but maybe we could update this to FM 2008?
StevieCoppellisaGod

If it wasn't for one thing I'd agree.

08 is RUBBISH
Sir Van Nistelrooy

on this one i agree with stevie just one thing though , RUBBISH , TRASH , GARBAGE , many adjectives could come in use here ? maybe a topic on the most appropiate word for Fm manager 08 ?
Nadji

I don't mind '08, I did not get into it as much as '06 or '07 though. Probably because it was the same thing with more bells and whistles.
StevieCoppellisaGod

And bugs

I got the demo but I hated the skin and the new match engine, so I'm still playing 07.

Football Manager Handheld 2008 is brilliant! It's an upgrade to the old one but with tons of new features. The PC Version isn't as good as last years.
StevieCoppellisaGod

Aparently, Handheld and the XBOX versions have always been rubnish, but I've never played on either so I can't tell for myself.
the-bats-boston

The PSP one is brilliant.
Sir Van Nistelrooy

i havent played on either but i cant see the Xbox versions being too great for some reason

I reckon they're fun (I haven't played it so I don't know) but I've never liked manager games on consoles as much as I have liked manager games on the PC (and now PSP).
Sir Van Nistelrooy

i just dont see the point n you make a team but just see them run around , thats why i have pro evo and sue the master league mode were its like LMA and you get to play the football
StevieCoppellisaGod

It's all about your tactics. LMA Manager is dreadful, FIFA Manager is worse, Champ Man is between FM and LMA. FM, as bad as it is on the PC this year, is still the best.

I started a save on 07 with Derby, it's pretty easy. I got some good loas (Liam Rosinor from Fulham, Arturo Lupoli and Fran Merida from Arsenal) and they made me pretty much invincible. I just have them hoof it up to Howard who flicks it on for Lupoli.

But that is what you do as a manager. You make and build your team, and they just run around. But there is tons more aswell; the tactics, the praise, the stadium (in some games), the success, the motivation, the love of the game.
StevieCoppellisaGod

I just sold Dave Kitson to Man U for 15 million because I thought I could get Mario Gomez for 10- but he wouldn't come to Reading! So now I'm stuck with Collins John, Kerlon and Landon Donovan. Doyle's got 6 in 2, which is a consolation I suppose, but Lita's injured and John and donovan can't score, so I'm reliaing on 2 twenty year olds to help Doyle out!
