A Geyser? fill an Aussie in?
|
hottntott
|
Geyser or Geezer- not the hot water spout or the water heater - but London slang for one of the lads. Not necessarily a Jack the Lad. Just a guy. Quote, 'This geyser comes up to me and he says'.....

Oh ok thanks, another English word to the vocabulary Would you say it's commonly used?

On the streets in London, yes. The quote I gave would be typical. I'm surprised that it is not familiar in Oz. Do you get 'Eastenders' on tele? It would be daily Mitchell Bros/Queen Vic stuff.

oh, geezer, now I get it. thoguht you were calling me a natural fountain of hot water. yes, Theo Walcott does play for the under 21s, but Leroy Lita and either David Nudgent or Wayne Rooney will start up front. Rooney may put in a request to play because of the first game and all, and he's elegible.

hottntott

Yea - you are right - my spelling of the word may be incorrect in this context.

Nah we don't get Eastenders here but I heard it's the English equivalent of our "Home and Away" or "Neighbours".
