The 4aces has been removed

The four Aces site has been removed
The company that runs the site has gone bust (run out of money), and so the site has been removed. You will no longer be able to access it. Your teams have been removed, and you can't get to them.

Unless...
The people which have bought the new domain name have re-invented the site. Very unlikely, but possible. EDIT: It's very, very possible! Topic locked!

since when?

huh wots goin on der?
u1bd2005

by the looks of it he's still recieving email updates about his team.

Full story:
The company who ran the4aces went broke (bankrupt) a while ago, the4aces stayed online until the domain name expired. When the domain name expired we couldn't access the game anymore.

Now the website its-self will still exist (somewhere) on whichever site it was hosted with, which is why people who are checked to recieve updates are still doing so.

Unfortunatly we have no idea where the site is, who it is hosted with, or under which name. So basically it is possible to find it but its well over 100,000,000/1 chance of finding it (one chance in over one hundred million), remembering that the odds of winning the lottery are only about 14,000,000/1

Click it boy. Youy know you want to. I hope the link works...
StevieCoppellisaGod

BTW the odds arn't that long then, my cleaner won the lottery. If only she hadn't been convinced to change them for one week...

So, this is it? The 4 Aces goes, and so does the forum. Why not just create a site and try and make our own, simple version of the game?
editor

To create an online multiplayer you would need to know a lot of coding (php, asp, etc)

And something which would cost quite a bit that you would also need is a server (even a virtual server still costs quite a bit.)

I've thought about creating my own online games before but have never managed to.
the-bats-boston

I've made simple games on Bebo, non-scripting things, never been to good with codes though. never mind!
StevieCoppellisaGod

Forum's still here Freddy

Editor is ub BTW.

And how can you make a game on Bebo?

What about that old thing you had? I know you couldn't log on to your team and all, but it would be possible.
StevieCoppellisaGod

I love Google!!!

The most advanced search I could think of comes up with 3 options.

OK, im going to be looking into possibilities of making a multiplayer manager game using mostly html, I think i've found a solution to the server problem that I was facing.
I've found a code which should allow me to create a log-in system with as many different usernames as I can think of, not sure exactly how secure it would be though so im looking for other similar scripts too.
StevieCoppellisaGod

What, do you mean you'd have to think up usernames beforehand?
u1bd2005

no, i meant i can add as many as I want, but I do have to type them out one by one.

I can allways add new ones but it means that everytime someone wants a new account they would need to wait until i receive the details so I can set it up for them.
-----
This kind of multiplayer game would require an awful lot of work from me too when it is set up as I will have to manually type out all the results, transfers, player stats, income etc (unlike the big-guys who can afford servers and profesional scripters and stuff).

But I think I will be prepared for the job (if it gets too much maybe could get someone to help me run it), it would maybe take about an hour a day to make updates, progress reports etc.

Now this explains alot!

oh man i cant find hotntott? Wheres he gone?
StevieCoppellisaGod

PM him. He's replying to mine.

welcome back Joe boy, keep posting around. The more you put into this forum, the more you get out. That sounds stupid, but so does apple pandowdy.

Ouch... if you can be bothered to do all that for us, you're karma points will shoot up.

I suppose we could all create a network game on, say, FM 07. However, that wouldn't work:
1. We'd all have to be online at the same time, which is unhelpful for the Ozzies.
2. We'd have to wait until the others were ready before we played.
3. We'd start getting promoted, unless we managed in the A-League or somewhere like that that only has one league
4. Every one would have to buy it
5. When we played matches against each other, we'd have to pause every time someone wanted to make a change.

etc. etc. etc.

How much do servers cost (approx.)? If it's not much, we could all chip in...
u1bd2005

Not sure how much they cost, you could probably get a cheap (but unreliable) one, or you could pay quite a bit to get a decent one, but I dont know enough code to set up a propper game anyway so a server would probably be useless still.

Im also having problems even getting a log-in area that works on my own site.

Wouldnt the easy thing be to find another online footy manager game thats free, that also allows you to make your own league/tournament or something similar?
the-bats-boston

I've found a way of making a log-in system. I'm not sure as UB said how secure it is - but I'm looking into making an online manager game, perhaps an upgraded version to the one I never got to start last time.

once you have the log-in page up tell me the link (pm or post here) and ill see how secure I think it is.
StevieCoppellisaGod

Hey, I just noticed, the insert web page thing automatically updates itself ( see first post)
