The sweetest Victory of allMelbourne Victory have capped off a perfect season with a grand final win over Adelaide United! Unfortunately I was unable to get tickets as it was a sell out but I watched it at my mates house on a projector. The scoreline was unbelievable for a Grand Final, Melbourne won 6-0 with Socceroos striker Archie Thompson netting a mere 5 goals! Everything went right for the Victory who only lost 4 games the entire season.
The weather was typical Melbourne weather 38 degrees, and torrential rain.
But boy did the goals rain down on Daniel Beltrame (Adelaide United Goalkeeper) All in all it was a great game with many records broken, a game I will never forget...

Sounds good Nadji, great game for a melbourne supporter, or even for a football supporter in Australia. We had a great game here on Tele yesterday, Man U 1 - Reading 1 - but what a pleasure for lovers of football. Really enjoyed it - really rate Reading manager, ex- top Man U and England winger. Glad you had a great one too.

YOU LOST 5 WHOLE TIMES! Twice, Nadji, twice is only. Who many player s did you have sent off all season? howe many points? Credit still goes to you however, Adelaide United are (or were) the best team in Australia, and winning 6-0 is hard to do, reading have only done it twice in 2 years... (West Ham and Millwall)

This should answer most of your questions, also technically Sydney FC were the reigning champs as Adelaide won the minor Premiership.

...and Hunt runs through the entire Man U defence...
...Hunt past Ferria... Boularouz AND Essien... beats mikel and terry, nutmegs lampard, pasess to Doyle WHO SCOR... hits the post.
Now who's the premierships best dribbler?
Not a very big table is it Nadji? And a New Zealand team? Well Cardiff and Swansea (no one can prove anything!) ... but that's different.

The league is only 2 years old Steve, and yes we have a NZ team as you can see by the table they don't travel to well.

Yeah been pretty busy juggling school and soccer(Football for you guys). Plus no Shane Warne and the Aussies form going into the World Cup is distracting
|
hottntott
|
Right. Yes - we are familiar with soccer. Remember, we are multi-lingual here. Shane was on a chat show here last night - got a terrific reception. He is playing for Hampshire, my nearest county, and the audience were kidding him to take 4 years to qualify for England ready for the next Aussie home Ashes. See- they've already adopted him. He was on with David Coultard.
|
Nadji
|
Maybe before to long he will sign up for a citizenship. A quick question Tott would you consider Hampshire to be a good team? With Warney how can you go wrong?
|
hottntott
|
I've got to be honest here - I am not really up to date with the county cricket situation. I am sure the answer is yes. Hampshire usually have a very strong team, with top overseas stars. Off the top of my head, I believe Shane and Pieterson play for them. I will come back to you. My county, Wiltshire, has only a minor county status, and one of their grounds is just next door to me, more or less. Hampshire have always had their share of the world's very top overseas guys, like Barry Richards when he was the best, and plenty of Aussie stars. I am very into cricket as a game and especially international cricket.

cmon on glamorgan (is Dan Cherry still captain) Jones both of them are increadible

Simon Jones is great.

Yeah fair enough I probably couldn't tell you much about the Victorian Bushrangers (the team Warney used to spin a ball for).
|
hottntott

No Nadji, I gave the wrong impression. Hampshire is one of the great county sides. It's just that I am not up to date with latest league positions etc. They now have two divisions (new). The list of great players is long. I will come back to this because it is of big cricket interest.

Nadji - coincidently news taday is that Stuart Clarke has signed for hampshire.

Thats correct Tott, Clarkey will be making his way to Hampshire for the 2007 season.

Didn't Brazil legend Romario play a few games for Adelaie Utd or Sydney FC ealrier in the season
|
Nadji
|
Yes thats correct I think I said that some where around here...?
Thats right here it is. It was a bit long and boring, and here it is
| Nadji wrote: | | As a "Soccer" fan in a country in which the game is at the bottom of the sports pecking order, I see the the Beckham move as a great one to further develop the U.S.A's understanding and acceptance of the world game. Earlier this season(I'm not sure if you know this) Brazillian Legend Romario had a brief 4 game stint with Adelaide United. Although at the time he recieved some rather unfair criticism, he as Hottntott said "puts bums on seats" and Adelaide's croud attendance increased by almost 100%. |
Enjoy
