Transfer Gossip

This is a page for any rumours or even transfers that have or are about to happen. Don't say, Aston Villa are close to signing Ronaldinho, cos there not.

Gareth Bale has moved to Spurs. Now all they need is another left winger or a central midfielder to be almost as good as Liverpool.

Liverpool have signed Dimitar Berbatov's old strike partner from Bayern Levshken. Andriy Icantspellit I apparently Robbie Fowler's replacement.

Nani is a target for Man U, but Aresenal and Liverpool are also after him. Tottenham see him as the left winger I mentioned. United are also closing in on Owen Hargreaves for the 30,674th time

Chelsea beat... everyone to sign Steve Sidwell from Reading. Something-or-other Cisse (neither Djrbril or the old Pompey one) as signed for the royals, but is not a direct replacemnt.

Man City and newcaslte are being taken over.

Aresenal have signed some young goalkeeper, i belive he's called Luis Fabwinkski but i might be wrong.
u1bd2005

Well Ive heard quite a bit about Beckham coming on loan to Newcastle.
StevieCoppellisaGod

From LA Galaxy? They'd never do it... would they?
hez

luke youngs goin to west ham, hermanators goin to pompey, bent looks set to go to either tottenham, west ham or liverpool (probably liverpool coz my frends dad works with bents dad in a post office).
Nadji

Theres a lot of rumors floating around Anfield as a result of Gillet and Hicks backing Rafa plans.

Rafa is after 2 more midfielders with creativity:

Rafael Van Der Vaart may be one. He will be available for very cheap money–around 8mil and he will replace the Spain–bound Luis Garcia who Benitez feels isn't one of the players who can pull it off every week. Previously, Rafa has dealt with his inconsistency, but with funds, Luis will be replaced.

The other midfielder Benitez is looking at is Daniel Alves who will compete with Pennant but can also fill in at right back. He will cost in the region of 15mil

Rafa plans to sign 2 strikers (as well as Voronin)

Carlos Tevez is said to be a chance coming in and Liverpool will should spash out 25mil to get him.

Eto'o is also on the list, but is less likely then Tevez in my opinion. Torres's name has also been floating around as well as possibly Michael Owen. Which should set the reds back around 17 and 9 Mil respectively. Other names circulating for that illusive spot up front are David Villa (unlikely) and Bent.

Rafa backs his defense so I believe only one defender will arrive. This will be Gabriel Milito for around 13mil. Although Rafa trusts Agger, he feels in some matches he is going to struggle. Milito will also provide excellent cover and will push for first team, unlike Hyypia.

Riise may be leaving for the right price.

I'm not saying this is concrete as this is mostly rumors and hear say, especially with some of Rafa's signings in the past anything could happen. But this is the "Transfer Rumors" topic and I see my predictions as Educated Speculation.

It is rumoured that it will happen in january as LA Galaxy have a big season break, and Beckham has admitted that he doubts he would be able to keep his fitness for the England squad without playing matches now that he has been recalled.
so it is rumoured to be a loan of about 3 months during LA Galaxy's season break.
DanTheGunner

Hmmm a few interesting ones for Liverpool there, Van der Vaart would be a very good buy for them, Tevez too. David Villa is outta their price range i reckon, only Chelsea could afford him.

I think/am hearing Man Utd are going to try to sign Torres, but they will need a massive amount of cash AND make him leave cause he wants to stay at Atletico for life

Oh and Henry is supposedly going to Barcelona . Well if they do sign him, Eto'o is coming to the EPL i think

I wouldn't worry about Henry, but I think Eto'o will be leaving Barca regardless. Villa has a massive release clause and is probably even out of Chelski's price range.

As I understand it, Beckham will have time to spend in the Premiership each season, as the US season is short, and he is likely to turn out for Tottenham because it is near his Hertfordshire home.

Arsenal are also interested.

The great scandinavian striker did the same for Man U this season. |
That's the model. So Beckham would be both very fit and also very sharp.

And it seems that Ferguson still covets Berbatov. Crouch to tottenham? We must keep The Berb!
Tottenham big need is still a real good stopper centre back, to free up Ledley. I had hoped they would have gone for Woodgate, my favourite.

For clubs like Tottenham I see rotation as the big problem. Players want to play. Just look at poor Defoe's situation. We are not seeing the best of him, so why on earth are Tottenham closing in on Michael Owen?
u1bd2005

I don't know what Liverpool Supporters will make of this rumour but...

Quote:
Newcastle United boss Sam Allardyce is planning a £10 million bid for Liverpool centre-forward Peter Crouch.
The Times says twice thwarted in his attempts to sign Crouch while in charge at Bolton Wanderers, Allardyce is hoping to strike it third time lucky this summer.

Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez is ready to sell Crouch, but wants a replacement lined up first before doing any business.

I use a site which usually has very reliable sources as well.
DanTheGunner

Yeah ive been hearing that, plus if they sell Crouch and Bellamy they could make a bid of Villa or Torres

O'Neill seems to want Bellamy at Villa so they can go for a European spot
Nadji

'Rafa told me I won't be sold' - Crouch

Looks like Crouchy is staying at Anfield.

Source: http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=434425&cc=3436
hottntott

I don't know why any team would want to sell crouch. he is great on anyone's bench, the worst way. Like him or not, he is goals.
Nadji

Thats right, he's also quite versatile and has been the center of many of Rafa's strategies. The tall player always has the advantage in the air and you don't get much taller then Peter.
DanTheGunner

Agreed, ive dissed Crouch heaps in the past, but i now think hes a pretty handy striker. Liverpool should get rid of Bellamy, hes Hey look, the swear filter works.......he can run pretty fast, thats about it . They need a world class striker, and if they spend big they'll prolly get one. Someone quick to run onto Crouch headers would be good lol
philiam111

chelsea also wants tevez ,villa and i think that chelsea can afford villa!!~!
StevieCoppellisaGod

Crouch is actually rubbish in the air compared to most players in the premiership, which for the tallest player is something...

philiam, chelsea can't afford villa or tevez unless they sack mourinho. Roman isn't prepared to spend big on him, but if say Hiddink came in, the sky's the limit...
DanTheGunner

DEAR LORD!

Manchester United have scored a major summer transfer coup by swooping for highly-rated Portugal-based duo Anderson and Nani.

From Soccernet, so its a proper source

That bad for every other team in the EPL, both these players are future superstars :S. Fees are agreed, only personal terms remain, but I doubt the players will say no
DanTheGunner

philiam111 wrote:

Villa has a 100 million pound release cause, NO player is worth 100 mill, u could buy like 4 guns for that lol
hottntott

StevieC - say what you like - but if the ball is in the air, you want crouch in the box.
philiam111

i know but valencia are gonna sell him cheaper i think
StevieCoppellisaGod

Nani, anderson, rooney, ronaldo. Help.

Valencia will not sell villa for less than 40 million pounds. Chelsea's budget is 20 million. End of.
DanTheGunner

StevieCoppleisagod wrote:

exactly what i was saying stevieC, EPL defences are in major trouble now, arsenal's especially, lol

Villa wont go to Chelsea, unless they get rid of Shev. No point having him Drogba and Shev competing for (usually) for a sole striking spot
StevieCoppellisaGod

Usually 2 this season actually, since they got sheva they've played 4-4-2 and drogba's had more room to score (he's no longer double marked)
hottntott

mr Bench will be their problem.
StevieCoppellisaGod

Tell sheva he's getting on and can only be used effectivly as a sub. He'll aggree, they're paying him something like £120,000 a week to do nothing
u1bd2005

Latest news is Joey Barton linked with Newcastle, I just heard it on the news.
StevieCoppellisaGod

He's had a medical and viduka will proberbly move there too.
Nadji

Both of them will make their way to the magpies.
StevieCoppellisaGod

Viduka isn't certain to go but proberbale, Barton has, it just needs confirmation from Man City that he's offically left.
warrior

liverpool have put a bid in for samuel Eto
warrior

west ham have put a bid in for andy johnson
StevieCoppellisaGod

Marlon Harewood is leaving West Ham on a free.
cjj141092

parker has signed 4 west ham!
StevieCoppellisaGod

Reo- coker is proberbly going to Aston Villa, which may mean Gavin McCann goes to Man City and complete the circle of transfers (Barton to Tonn, Parker to West Ham, Reo-Coker to Villa, McCann to City)
DanTheGunner

Ribery just signed for Bayern Munich, bad for arsenal
hez

i know most of you really dont care about this but charlton have signed leister city defender patrick mccarthy for £650,000 and we're getting chris perry back on a free i think.
StevieCoppellisaGod

Barton's moves is OFF for now because he's demanding City pay him some sort of loyalty bonus. Bad for newcastle, sold parker and havn't got the replacement yet.
DanTheGunner

loyalty bonus? wtf? i dont like him anyway, hes bound to get into more fights at newcastle lol. i think he'd be a bad move for them
StevieCoppellisaGod

Just imagine if they hadn't sold Bowyer yet, or if they buy Bellamy back! Barton, Bowyer and Bellamy.
sneddon_1000

Manchester United are being linked with Standard Liege youngster Marouane Fellaini.
The 18 year-old Moroccan-born midfielder will be watched by United manager Sir Alex Ferguson for Belgium's U21 European Championships semifinal against Serbia on Wednesday.

Fellaini's agent revealed today that a major European club is preparing a bid for the youngster.
sneddon_1000

Apparently sunderland want forlan lmao, hesaid "It's not only Liverpool who've asked about signing me. In January, I rejected a loan move to Sunderland. I also know another Premier League club is asking about my availability. "I've signed a new deal with Villarreal and they have an exit clause of around £15million in my contract." now thats funny
StevieCoppellisaGod

THIERRY hENRY IS NEAR TO SIGNING FOR BARCA

even henry himself has addmited it. What an impact mr dein's departure has had.
cjj141092

yep stevie is rite! £16,000,000
but the funny fing is dats less den bent is gonna go 2 tottenham 4! lol
StevieCoppellisaGod

Yeah but Bent's young and Henry's old.
DanTheGunner

Get over Bent already, lol

Arsenal are screwed lol . Wenger will go to Real Madrid, and Fabregas will follow .
StevieCoppellisaGod

Rosicky might be better this season, look at drogba, Essien and even Henry himself, players take time to settle. Same for Ballack and Sheva.
DanTheGunner

Yeah lol i agree with that, seems EPL players take a year to fire up. But even a fired-up Rosicky cant replace Henry, we need a world class striker. Maybe Trezeguet.......
Nadji

DanTheGunner wrote:

Trezeguet re-signed (3 years) with Juve, 2 weeks after saying he was sick of them.
DanTheGunner

hahaha really? what a tool. ah well. looks like we are gonna get no-one then. unless Arsenal decide to SPEND. but i dont see that happening
StevieCoppellisaGod

Over here, anelka, Owen and Martins are being suggested. Hard to see Anelka bought back and Martins isn't that great, but Owen is a definate maybe.

Also today, on the back pages of most of the tabloids (The Sun, The mail, The Mirror etc):

Barca bid £15milllion for Fabregas/ Barca to Faregas: You're next/Real and Barca make £14 million cesc bid etc
DanTheGunner

I doubt Wenger would go for Owen, supposedly he likes Martins though. Eto'o is still a possibility though.

And about Fabregas, i doubt Barca will bid, they just bought Yaya Toure. DUnno bout Real though, its a definite possibility
StevieCoppellisaGod

Why do you not think he'll go for Owen? He's English and more famous than Martins (more shirt sales) and his release clause is lower (Owen £9 mil, Martins £11/12000000)
DanTheGunner

You said it there, hes English, and i dont think Wenger has a love of English players lol (not including Walcott)

In other news, Liverpool are supposedly closer to signing Fernando Torres for around £25 mill
Nadji

I hope those Torres reports are true although theres been some conflicting news about him.
StevieCoppellisaGod

Hang on, I can fill you in some more. On Monday (I think) Athletico said they'd do it for Crouch plus cash. Then on Tuesday, Liverpool said that they'd do Bellamy plus cash. On Wednesday, Athletico Madrid fans threatened to cause a riot. Can't blame them, Torres, Rodriges (spelling) and Aguero are they're only decent players.

Cole and Campbell and Hoyte and Walcott have all been English, obviously Wenger prefers French (Henry, Viera, Pires, Wiltord, Anelka, Flamini, Almunia?, Clichy, Aliladiler, and Ribery and Trezguet that he's been linked to)
Mike EFC

i hope Torres screws Liverpool.

We(Everton) really need a new center back. Phil Jagielka would be the perfect signing.

I'd love to see Manny Fernandes again but I somewhat doubt it.
DanTheGunner

Mike EFC wrote:

Agreed Liverpool are w****rs, he should go to a good team that plays ATTACKING football, not "the long ball" team, lol. So Arsenal (lol we're poor) or Man Utd would be a good choice. I really doubt he'd move to another Spainsh club, hed be shot.

I been hearing that EVerton want Jagielka, supposedly Sheff Utd (i think they're his team) wanted £4.5 mill for him, and Everton said no but im not sure

And Soccernet is saying that Spurs and Charlton have agreed a fee of £16.5 million, lmao. Fools

Also, Tevez has rejected a move to Inter Milan. Interesting that

Edited by u1bd2005: please dont swear, thank you
StevieCoppellisaGod

Soccernet speaks the truth.

Phil Jagielka is a midfielder that can play in defence. If you need a new defender, it's not him. He's pretty poor anyway (I';d say that no matter how good he was )
StevieCoppellisaGod

Right, quick update.

Birmingham just signed some uncapped Brazilian defender

Aresenal signed Ecuardo da Costa and Luis Fabwinski, plus someone else who's name I forgot.

Jagielka has signed for Everton.

Fulham want Dimansy and Henri Carmara

West Ham have offered £10 million plus Benyon for Cisse and Bellamy. Cisse's not going there though so they change the deal to £8 million (no Benyaoun)

And the biggest shock since Tevez and Mahrano

Spoiler:

Juninho is considering and offer from HULL CITY!!!

mangers boy

Do west ham fans think tevez will leave

mangers boy wrote:

Im just going to post a message on a West Ham forum now, ill let you know some west hame fans views in a bit (maybe a day or two) not sure exactly how long though.
StevieCoppellisaGod

I think it's likely, but they're in big trouble. Joobrican will sue them if they don't sell him, the Preiership will relagate them if they do and pay Joobrican, if they sell him but don't pay joobrican then he'll sue. No win situation.
u1bd2005

ok, quite quick (but stupid) replies from some of the west ham fans when I asked them if they thought tevez would leave.

1. Yes
2. I know one that can't
3. Drogba

Raul and Deco could be coming to Newcastle

The News of The World wrote:
BILLIONAIRE Mike Ashley wants to bring a global superstar to Newcastle — and has put Raul and Deco high on his wanted list.

The Toon's new owner plans to signal his ambition to make the club a worldwide brand by signing one of the biggest names on the planet.

A source revealed: "Now Mike has overall control of Newcastle he wants to make a statement of intent to the rest of world football.

Global

"He wants to land a global superstar to show he means business and make everyone sit up and take notice.

"Mike hopes to move over the next few weeks as Raul and Deco face uncertain futures."

The future of Real Madrid skipper Raul has been in doubt since the sacking of boss Fabio Capello.

Portugal ace Deco wants to play in England and could be offloaded if Barca land Frank Lampard.
hez

i think deco might go as he wants to leave barcelona and says he wants to play in england. i dont see the point of raul hes too old.
StevieCoppellisaGod

I saw that in the paper. Great players them. Don't see why Deco or Raul would want to leave, unless Barca sign Lampard. Then Deco would be third choice or less behind Xaxi, Lampard and maybe Ininesta and Marquez
DanTheGunner

The new manager Schuster said that Raul is staying, id highly doubt he'd move anyway, hes their damn captain........plus why would he make such a step down to Newcastle, lol, jks
StevieCoppellisaGod

Raul is Real born and bred, he'll retire before he leaves them. Then he'll become manager
DanTheGunner

StevieCoppleisagod wrote:

LOL agreed

About Deco though, I wouldnt be surprised if he left, but it does depend on the Lampard situation. Last time I heard, Lamps rejected a new contract, but i dont know if they offered him a new one. Any updates on that?
StevieCoppellisaGod

No, not yet, but Robben rejected his too. Real are pursuiting him but Mourinho says he won't let him go.

Also, for anyone that didn't notice, Chelsea have signed Florent Malouda. Someone at school said something about Reading signing a Newcastle defender. Now I'm even more scared than when Man U signed Nani and Anderson
StevieCoppellisaGod

Fowler is in talks with Sydney.

Liverpool have signed Benayoun and Babel.

Reading are not signing a Newcastle defender, thank God.

Lee Mculloc has gone to Rangers

Fulham have, in the past few days, signed Aaron Hughes, Steven Davies, Diomansy Camara and today someone else.

Aresenal have signed that defender from Auxerre
cjj141092

StevieCoppleisagod wrote:

StevieCoppellisaGod

That's him.

The Tevez saga is continuing. There is a way around the trouble they're in.

Fulham are trying to sign Cook. They here that he'll be playing for England regualy and nearly got in the World Cup squad. They don't know that that is Alistar Cook, the cricker. Tehy are siugning Lee Cook, the 6th best winger in the Championship iun 2005-6
StevieCoppellisaGod

Jason Koumas signed for Wigan.

Reading have been linked to a River Plate defneder, Gergo or something. This is the only bad thing about Coppell, he always signs defenders, paticuarly centre backs. At the moment we've got Ingarmarsson, Sonko, Bikey (Bee-kay), Mate (Mat-ay), Sodje, Dubery and Bennet, all signed by Coppell. He's also signed left-back Golbourne, rb/cb John Halls, and de la "your-not -useless-anymore" Cruz. Then There's Murty and shorey, plus teh youngsters, and he's bought and sold Martin Keown, Greg Halford... I'll shut up.
StevieCoppellisaGod

It's back!

Signings completed:
Luka Modric (Spurs, £16.5m)
Jose Botswinga (Chelsea, £16.5m)
John Bostock (Spurs, £1m)
Some rubbish Italian left back (Liverpool, £1.5m)
There are others but I can't recall them.

High profile players to be released: Carlos Bocnegra, Mark Schwarzer, Fabio Rochemback, Antti Niemi

Manergerial changes: Avram Grant sacked along with assistant Henk ten Cate.

Rumours:
Leroy Lita to Hull, £2-8m (sorry, a stray "m" sneaked in there)
Stephen Hunt to Sunderland, £5-10m
David Villa to Chelsea, up to £38 million
Sergio Ramos to Chelsea, up to £50 million
Igor Akinfeev to Man U, up to £30m
Wilson Palacios and Antonio Valencia to Man U, up to £11m for the pair (6+5)
Samir Nasri to Arsenal, up to £16 million
Nicky Shorey to Newcastle, Villa, or West Ham: £5-7 million
Dimitar Berbatov to Man U, £20-40m
John Mensah to Portsmouth, £2-6m
Frank Lampard to Inter, up to £45 million (world transfer record, breaking Zidane's £44.6m)
Jo to Man City, Spurs, Everton, Newcastle, 'boro, Villa, West Ham, Pompey, up to £23m (think we could see more due to a bidding war!)

I know you lot are unlikely to care, but Michael Kightley to Reading, £1.5m
Mike EFC

Everton, Spurs and Roma chasing Joaquin
StevieCoppellisaGod

Mike EFC wrote:

Interesting. He'd be a good player for Everton or Spurs, but I don't think Roma need him, they've got Mancini

Deco to Spurs, Newcastle, Inter or Roma, with Porto as an option if he can't agree terms.
Brian McBride to the MLS.
Mike EFC

Also Moyes has been watching Michael Bradley, who played for the USA against England on Wednesday. He has also said he would like a move to Everton. According to some sources Everton and Liverpool are battling for Michael Johnson who has a 10m price tag. Another one is James Milner who could be on his way to Everton for 5m. And also Real Madrid have apparently offered Man Utd 50m Segio Ramos, Robinho and Diarra for Cristiano Ronaldo.
StevieCoppellisaGod

I've heard that Blackburn will go for Milner if Liverpool get Bentley.
Man City Special
Richard Dunne is going to every club in the Premiership.
Micah Richards is fancied by Chelsea and Man U.
Liverpool, Everton, and possibly Newcastle want Michael Johnson.
Stephen Ireland is a target for Fulham, who will pay £4m
Bolton are going for Geovanni, who has struggled with injuries, due to the fact that they have no strikers.
Milan want Corluka, but will face competion from Barcelona, who will go for Vedran if they can't get Phillip Lahm (Bayern) or Alves (Sevilla). Real also like him and see him as an ideal replacement for Sergio Ramos.
Elano will go to Chelsea- but only if they get Scolari as manager- for a fee of up to £7m.
Martin Petrov may join fellow Bulgarian dimitar Berbatov at Spurs, who stilll need a left footed left winger. They have been after Petrov for 2 years. They could also bid for Joe Hart if they don't get Oscar Ustari or Carlos Kameni. Franco Ochoa is another target.
And finally, Thaksin is set to appoint Sam Allerdyce as manager! (I made that up)
