Nice passing, flowing football. Some quality teams like Real, Barca, Villareal, Valencia and Athletico. Every one has a chance of beating everyone. The national team won the Euros, which should buoy Real and Barca into the later stages of the CL.
So, who'll win the league?
Let's start with the reigning champions, Real Madrid. The champions have added Rafael Van der Vaart, from Hamburg SV, to their already strong squad. Despite missing out on Ronaldo and losing Robinho, they look like favourites to win the league. Young players like Fernando Gago, Royston Drenthe and Marcelo are only going to improve, plus players like Wesley Sneijder, Arjen Robben, Raul, Ruud Van Nistelrooy, Pepe, and Van der Vaart- not to mention arguably the best 'keeper in the worl, Iker Casillas.
Then there's Barca. Rookie manager Pep... well, him, has attempted to clear the squad out. Ronaldinho has joined AC Milan and Deco has joined Chelsea. Eto'o looked on the brink of leaving, but for various reasons could not. Gio Dos Santos has joined Spurs, too. In come Daniel Alves, arguably the best right back in the world, and Alexander Hleb, formerly of Arsenal. Add them to Leo Messi, Gabriel Millito, Thierry Henry, Carlos Puyol and youngster Bojan, and you've got a quality team. Is it enough to challenge Madrid?
Now to Villareal. The main signing is Jozy Altidore from the MLS. He's only a kid though, so I doubt Villa will challenge the big two, especially with Rimelque leaving.
Athletico are interesting. They've already got a strong squad, with the likes of Sergio Aguero and Diego Forlan leading the attack. Maxi Rodriguez and Simoa support them, with Raul Garcia breaking from midfield. The defence is weak in comparision, and they've only just added a proper goalie. The summer signings of French international Gregory Coupet from Lyon, Czech centre back Tomas Ujfalusi from Fioretina and promising midfielder Ever Banega on loan from Valencia have significantly strengthen the defensive unit- they also signed another centre back that I have forgotten. They could push on, but are a long shot for the title.
Valencia have kept David Villa, David Silva, Joaquin, Vincente, and the other key players. They will be aiming to make up for last year's dissappointment and get into the CL.
